State Representative Mike Dovilla (R–Berea) was joined Tuesday at the Ohio Statehouse by the Polaris Career Center Culinary Team and Restaurant Management Team.  Representative Dovilla presented both teams with resolutions passed by the Ohio House of Representatives honoring the students on their recent performance at the 2012 ProStart Invitational State Tournament. 

“It is an honor to recognize the achievement of these fine young students,” said Dovilla.  “Having two teams place first in our state competition, and advance to the national competition, demonstrates the strength of our career center and the dedication of the teachers who inspire these young adults to achieve success.”

ProStart is a two-year curriculum for 11th and 12th grade students developed by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation.  The Ohio ProStart program enables Ohio restaurants to attract, develop and retain their workforce while providing a bright future for students.
