What are we most passionate about at the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, Cleveland Affiliate...  Awareness!  What is the second most passionate aspect of our Network, Fund-raising for Research and Patient Support.

This year, nearly 44,000 Americans will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and more than 37,000 will die from the disease. The five-year relative survival rate is just six
percent and has remained largely unchanged in the last forty years because early detection tools and effective treatments have yet to be developed.  Despite these sobering statistics, approximately two percent of the National Cancer Institute’s federal research funding is
allocated to pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, June 16, 2012, the Cleveland Affiliate of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network will host "PurpleStride Cleveland 2012” a 5k run and 1 mile walk  at the Cleveland Metropark Zoo.
