Applebee's, Sheetz Will Offer Veterans and Troops Free Meals
Restaurants will thank the military on Nov. 11 and 12
For the fourth year, Northeast Ohio Applebee’s will thank the nation’s veterans and troops with a free meal on Veterans Day, Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012.
Also, Sheetz Convenience Restaurants will serve all military troops and veterans a free hot dog lunch on Monday, Nov. 12.
Veterans and active-duty personnel will be served 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at all 430 Sheetz locations throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina.
The lunch includes two free hot dogs, with choice of toppings, and a 22-ounce fountain drink.
Applebee's expects to serve more than 1 million free meals on Sunday.
Items on the free meal menu include a 7-ounce House Sirloin, Bacon Cheeseburger, Three Cheese Chicken Penne, Chicken Tenders Platter, Oriental Chicken Salad, Fiesta Lime Chicken® and Double Crunch Shrimp.
Most Northeast Ohio Applebee’s will be open from 10:30 a.m. to midnight.
At Sheetz, active duty or retired veterans must present a valid military identification card, be in uniform or show other proof of military service.
At Applebee's, guests will need to provide proof of service, which includes: U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement, Veterans Organization Card, photograph in uniform or wearing uniform, DD214, Citation or Commendation.
The offer is valid for dine-in only. Traditional sides are included with free entrees; 2 for $20 appetizers, upgraded side items or extras, beverages, desserts and gratuity are not included.
