Relive some 'Cleveland Christmas Memories' with Gail Bellamy
Author Gail Bellamy will share stories from her new book, Cleveland Christmas Memories, on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 2-3 pm at the Strongsville branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library 18700 Westwood Drive.
Bellamy's book is a collection of personal stories and remembrances of Christmas past from dozens of Northeast Ohioans. It includes memories of Mr. Jingeling, the keeper of Santa’s keys at Halle’s department store; the holiday lighting display at GE’s Nela Park; the oversized Christmas tree at Sterling-Lindner department store; and the annual Cleveland Press Christmas Parade.
The book also includes stories from the behind-the-scenes men and women who helped make Christmas “happen” for others, such as former Santas, retail window dressers, entertainers, and, of course, parents.
Gail Bellamy is the executive food editor of Restaurant Hospitality magazine and and has contributed to more than a half-dozen books about food, dining, and the arts.
Bellamy's talk at the Strongsville Library is free and open to the public. Advance registration is requested. For more information and to register, call 440-238-5530 or visit the library's web site: www.cuyahogalibrary.org
