Building to Start in Luxury Subdivision
First custom house being constructed in upscale development
Construction is expected to start this week on the first house in Cedar Creek Estates, the upscale subdivision being built off Prospect Road just west of Breckenridge Lane.
Developer Ed Lechler said progress on the subdivision has been slow, but it is moving now.
"Last year's wet season was a problem," Lechler said.
Last week, the city Planning Commission approved plans for the landscaping and sign at the entrance to the subdivision.
Lechler said that while not all the lots are sold, "we have plenty of interested parties."
The land has been graded at the street is in.
The plans show 12 large lots of 3/4 to 1.5 acres. Lechler, has said the subdivision will "fill a void" in Strongsville with its private, wooded lots and upscale houses, including some estate homes.
Owners will bring their own builders to the site to design one-of-a-kind homes.
This is the first venture as a home developer for Lechler, who owns Rock Bottom Landscaping on Prospect Road.
He told Strongsville Patch in February he is focusing on an upscale development with large lots "because it's what's missing.
"This side of town is quieter and more private than other parts of Strongsville," he said. "It will fit in with the area."
