Rock and roll arrives this weekend at Slim & Chubby’s, 12492 Prospect Rd. Friday night features Faction; Saturday night they’ve got The Junkman Band. Hopefully their riffs aren’t completely recycled (ba-bump!).
Patch.com takes the power of online local news and puts it in the hands of YOU, the reader/user. In like fashion, so does The Brew Kettle, a swell joint that lets you brew your own beer, and these days, make your own wine as well! Obviously, those can’t be made overnight (if they were, we’d all be in trouble), but on the second and fourth Thursdays of every month, you can try Real Ale or Cask-Conditioned Ales, which are neither filtered nor pasteurized and go through a secondary fermentation. It’ll put a slightly European spin on the beer you’d normally drink.
McCarthy’s Ale House, 13339 Pearl Rd., features karaoke this Friday, Jan. 7; Someone Special plays there Saturday. Triv’s, 17100 Royalton Rd., will feature oldies and favorites duo Midnight Groove on Friday and horn player Paul Christianson on Saturday.
If you’re looking to really get into the musical mix, you’ll probably have to hold out till Monday night for McCarthy’s acclaimed Jam Night, open to all genres and skill levels.
