Check Out Library's New Books for Kindle

Cuyahoga County Public Library adds Kindle to list of compatible e-readers

The Cuyahoga County Public Library has opened its Kindle library, adding the popular Amazon reader to the list of devices that can access its electronic books.

Previously, the Kindle was not compatible with the system's e-library. Customers have been able to use other devices, including the Barnes & Noble Nook, the Sony Reader, iPhones, iPads and laptops to check out e-books.

The library system purchased its first e-book in 2003, with more than 18,000 downloadable copies now in the collection.

They can be renewed just like a book or DVD, and they never incur library fines. When the borrowing period ends, the eBook simply disappears from the customer’s device.

The Digital Media Catalog allows the library’s customers to access digital materials 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Customers can check out and borrow the library’s digital materials using their library card or user ID.
