City Applies for $360,000 Grant for Fire Department
Money would be used for rescue squads, equipment
Strongsville is asking the federal government for $360,000 to help equip the Fire Department.
City Council last week agreed to apply for the money from the Assistance to Firefighter Grant Program.
It would be a 90-10 split, meaning the city would have to match the grant with $40,000.
"Let's hope we get every nickel," Councilman at large Joe DeMio said.
The money would be used to buy EMS vehicles and personal protective equipment for firefighters.
