Did You Know You Can Rent Boats at Hinckley Lake?
Cleveland Metroparks has kayaks, canoes, paddleboats and more
The new Cleveland Metroparks Hinckley Lake Boathouse & Store has brand-new canoes, kayaks (both single and tandems), rowboats (with and without motors), stand up paddleboards, paddle boats and two pontoon boats. Rental prices range from $13 to $60.
A variety of fishing supplies like fishing lines, lures, bobbers, bait buckets, hooks, nets, and three types of fresh bait (minnows, night-crawlers and maggots) are for sale, too.
If you are new to fishing and don't have a rod, no worries. The store has fishing rods and reels available for sale and rent. Hinckley Lake is a great place to catch trout, large mouth bass, small mouth bass, pan fish, sunfish, carp, catfish, bluegills and more.
If the picnic basket isn't fully stocked, the Boathouse & Store also has ice and picnic supplies, such as charcoal, paper products, tablecloths and coolers for sale.
The recently renovated Hinckley Lake Boathouse & Store also features an assortment of adult and children's apparel, including adult spring jackets, sweatshirts, t-shirts, button-down shirts, bamboo socks, caps, sunhats, and visors. Other items available are ponchos, umbrellas, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings, lotion, and an assortment of books, such as Field Guides and local area books, fishing and boating books, and the Fascinated Naturalist series, created by Cleveland Metroparks' own Jennifer Brumfield.
Light refreshments and some microwaveable items are also available for purchase.
The Hinckley Lake Boathouse & Store is open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily (through September) and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (October through March). It is at 1 West Drive in Hinckley Reservation, between Bellus and State roads in Hinckley Township.
