Election 2012: Introducing Red/Blue Northeast Ohio

Patch will be conducting surveys of party insiders this election season to learn the true sentiments of Republicans and Democrats on the ground in Ohio. Results from our first survey will be published this week!

Patch wants to know what Republican and Democratic insiders in Northeast Ohio are thinking during this important election season.

So we're going to ask them!

Patch will be conducting Red Northeast Ohio and Blue Northeast Ohio surveys throughout the election season in hopes of determining the true sentiments of Republicans and Democrats on the ground in Ohio.

The feature is intended to gather opinion and insight from influential local Democratic and Republican activists, party leaders and elected officials in Northeast Ohio.

The surveys aren't random. Patch editors have recruited a roster of insiders on both sides of the aisle. We will send them occasional surveys during the election season asking them about issues important to the election.

The results of our first survey, which we sent to our Republican insiders, will be published this week. We asked them a timely question: Should Mitt Romney choose an Ohioan to be his running mate? If so, who should he pick?

Want to participate? If you are an activist, party leader or elected official and would like to take part in regular surveys that last only a few minutes, please e-mail Senior Regional Editor Jean Dubail at jean.dubail@patch.com.

I am not now, nor have I ever been a member of the Republican Party. I am proud to be a registered Democrat and the President of the Beachwood Woodmere Democratic Ward Club.

It would be funny that Patch got it so wrong, if it weren't so egregious an error. That's just bad reporting or bad editing.

Hey Steve! We've corrected that - somehow, your name was in the wrong half of this 139-member list. Sorry for the confusion!

I agree, but this list has several duplicate entries, too. I'm glad they fixed it so quickly, but it should have been better edited before it was posted. Patch is a news organization, so I expect better!

Is this paragraph complete?

"The feature is intended to gather opinion and insight from influential local Republican activists, party leaders and elected officials in Northeast Ohio."

Who gives a crap what Democrats and Republicans think. THEY are NOT the ones who are going to make this -- or really, any -- election.

Most of them are going to to carry the water for their respective sides & spew their respective talking points. As if they actually know what they're talking about (they don't! -- unless it's talking about where we're at today as a country. BOTH of them can speak with knowledge about that because BOTH sides are EQUALLY responsible for the poo-storm this country has been dealing with for the past few years).
Only a right/left-winger would deny this (as they're wiping feces from their eyes from having their head firmly planted up their backside).

Actually he is correct in his own psychotic way ... all of the Democrats and Republicans on here are going to follow the party lines (talking points) while all the time throw insults (sometimes witty) at the other side..... and what is the end result 200 postings on someones blog where nobody has ever agreed with the other side ... with even the smallest of YOUR RIGHT ....................people its summer GO OUTSIDE
