Murphy's Motel on Pearl Road was the place to stay in about 1964.

 

The Cleveland Memory Project, a collaboration by Cleveland State University Libraries, includes this picture of Murphy's Motel around 1964, taken from a postcard.

The card says: "Two blocks north of exit 10, Ohio Turnpike, on U.S. 42. Phone: BE 4-2277. 55 Quiet Rooms, Free TV, Hi-Fi Music, Color TV in Lobby, Air-conditioned - Hot Water Heat with Individual Room Control, 2 Heated Swimming Pools, Kiddies Playground, Phones in all Rooms - 24 Hr. Switchboard Service, Family Rooms, Warm Bath Floors, Wall-to-Wall Carpeting, Kind-size Beds, Bedside Coffee in all Rooms, 10 min. to Airport, Next to Fine Restaurants."

The project includes a vast photo collection as part of a look at Cleveland history.
