The last one got a chuckle from O'Donnell, who spent more than an hour giving the two fourth-grade classes some first-hand answers about government.

O'Donnell, a former Cuyahoga County Common Pleas judge who is in his 10th year on the Ohio Supreme Court, had the kids giggling when he asked them what the highest court in the state is.

"Somebody you know works there," he hinted. "And he's here."

The visit was orchestrated by 9-year-old Molly Largent, who remembered meeting O'Donnell at an event when she was 6, and wrote him a letter.

"My mom brought me over to meet you because he told me you knew my dad, Jeff Largent," Molly wrote. "You told me you did know my dad and he was a great guy! That made me feel good!"

She asked O'Donnell to speak to her class at Surrarrer.

"I usually have Social Studies class in the afternoon, but you could come any time it is convenient for you," she wrote.

O'Donnell said he speaks at schools three or four times a year all over the state, typically at high schools or colleges.

To thank him, the classes presented O'Donnell with a Strongsville T-shirt.
