Girls Scout Troop Has Reason to GRIN
Troop 501 earns Bronze Award by helping dog rescue group
Strongsville Girl Scout Troop 501 received their Bronze Award last week by helping G.R.I.N. (Golden Retrievers In Need) and raising awareness for rescue dogs.
Troop 501 collected items for the rescue dogs through their schools, made dog pull toys and helped work a G.R.I.N. event in June at the Strongsville Petco.
Strongsville Troop 501 includes girls from Zellers Elementary School, Chapman Elementary School, Kinsner Elementary School and North Royalton Middle School. Troop 501 is led by Jennifer Matthews-Pate, Denise Scott and Melissa Hammitt.
The Girl Scout Bronze Award is the third highest award a Girl Scout can earn. It's a 15-hour community service project where the troop works together to earn the honor.
