Fun fall events offered every Saturday and Sunday in October

The Chalet Recreation Area in Cleveland Metroparks' Mill Stream Run Reservation offers fall hayrides Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons throughout the month of October.

The tractor-drawn hayrides are offered October Saturday nights (Oct. 6, 13, 20 and 27) from 6 to 10 p.m. and Sunday afternoons (Oct. 7, 14, 21 and 28) from 1 to 4 p.m.

Rides are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and leave approximately every half hour.

The hayrides cost $8 for adults, $6 for children 3 to 11, and are free for children 2 and under (must sit on adult lap).

Families can also enjoy a hay maze and entertainment at The Chalet, and on Saturday nights, square dancing for all ages. On Sundays, free bonus activities include coloring and craft stations and pumpkin painting (for a nominal fee).

Group hayrides are available before, during, and after public hours ($150 per wagon). Each wagon holds 25 kids or 20 adults.

Also, special dayrides will be offered Friday, Oct. 12 and Friday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wagons accommodate 20 adults or up to 25 children and are reservable for $95 per wagon. Reservations are required.
