Homecoming Starts Wednesday: Here's the Schedule of Events
Rides, food and entertainment highlight 70th annual festival
The 70th Annual Strongsville Homecoming will run July 18-21 on the City Commons.
The event, sponsored by the Strongsville Chamber of Commerce, includes rides, food and free entertainment.
The 39th annual "Spirit of Strongsville" Homecoming Parade, co-sponsored by Fifth Third Bank, will step off at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 18 from Progress Drive and will be followed by free entertainment on the Commons.
Ride tickets are $17 for an all-day pass. Individual ride tickets will also be available.

6:30 - Spirit of Strongsville Parade
8 - Entertainment by Disco Inferno
Thursday, July 19
3 p.m. - Rides, games, food open
5 - Entertainment by Strongsville Elementary Summer Band
6 - Entertainment by Studio 82 Dance Team
7 - Entertainment by The Avenue
Friday, July 20
3 p.m. - Rides, games, food open
5 - Entertainment by Cleveland Dance Academy
6 - Entertainment by Dance Excel

Saturday, July 21
7:30 a.m. - Cleveland Clinic race registration
9 a.m. - 5K race, 1-mile walk begins
Noon - Rides, games, food open for Kids' Day
1 p.m. - Entertainment by Strongsville Dance Company
2 - Entertainment by International Karate
3 - Entertainment by The Magic of Rick Smith Jr.
4 - Entertainment by Yume Daiko Japanese Drum Group

The entertainment will be followed by a drawing for a huge 50-50 raffle.

It always warms my heart to see the gypsy caravan of carnival workers overtaking the lot behind communications center. Uh, not really. Seriously though, has the Chamber ever thought about about any variety? It's been the exact same rides, games and food stands in the exact same spots for years. How about some change, make things a little interesting.
Also heard about the gigantic 50/50 raffle, supposedly being the biggest anywhere. I guess they've recovered from the humiliation of Walter being scammed by some guy claiming to be Australian just because he could throw out a "G'day mate!" with a fake Crocodile Dundee accent. That was classic.
