Kids Can Learn Basic Wilderness Skills

Cleveland Metroparks will demonstrate how to make a fire without matches

 

 

Cleveland Metroparks invites kids and adults to W.J. Green Lodge in Mill Stream Run Reservation from 2-4 p.m. Jan. 27 to learn how to make a fire.

Naturalist Sharon Hosko will demonstrate various methods of making fire including flint and steel, bow drill and hand drill.

This program is for children 10 and older with an adult.

Registration is required by calling 440-526-1012 or visiting clevelandmetroparks.com.

W.J. Green Lodge Reserved Picnic Area is off Valley Parkway in Berea, south of Bagley Road and north of Eastland Road.

its called a lighter (much easier to carry than flint rocks)
