Valentine's Day Gift Ideas -- Right Down the Street

Need something special for your sweetie? There are plenty of choices right here in Strongsville

If you live in Strongsville, there’s no excuse for not picking up some kind of Valentine’s Day gift for the loved ones in your life. After all, the city is a retail mecca – and you’ve got some time still to execute a plan.

Let's start with the traditional.

Chocolates

Boxed chocolates can be found in just about any drug, grocery or discount store, but Strongsville is also home to four (count 'em, four) candy stores -- Olympia on Pearl Road, Fannie May in the Plaza at SouthPark, the new Malley's on Pearl Road and another Malley's in Westfield SouthPark mall.

There's also the Cute Little Cake Shop and Busy Bakers Bakery for sweet treats.

Flowers

You could pick up flowers at the grocery store, but your loved one might appreciate a fresher bouquet or arrangement from a local florist like Hirt's Flowers, Dara's Flower Mill or Roses $9.99 and More.

There's still time to order bouquets for delivery, too! But if you wait to the last minute, most florists prepare holiday-themed arrangements to keep on hand for last-minute shoppers.

Jewelry

Jewelry stores in Strongsville are almost too numerous to mention, with a half dozen at the mall and several independent stores like Sheiban, G. Filo and Tri-Gem.

Less expensive items can be found at Kohl's, Macy's, Target, JC Penney, Walmart and plenty of other stores.

Gift Certificates and Random Ideas

Think outside the heart-shaped box and buy a gift card at places like a day spa, hair salon, Pat Catan's, a garden center, restaurant or coffee shop, or a personal care shop like Sephora or Ulta.

And here are some non-traditional thoughts: a membership to the Ehrnfelt Recreation Center, a bird feeder from Wild Birds Unlimited, a toy or treat for your sweetie's pet, a membership to Costco, a Kindle Fire or other tablet, or a gift bag full of healthy treats, soup mixes and nuts.

Dining

Strongsville is home to myriad restaurants offering just about every type of food imaginable – from tried-and-true American favorites to international cuisine such as Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Italian and Mexican.

Check out Strongsville Patch’s handy Directory to consider eateries you haven’t yet tried. You can search the Directory for various types of cuisine.

Have fun searching -- you may find a new restaurant or business!

And Happy Valentine's Day!
