Man Chases Kids with Gun; Bunch of Mischief: Police Blotter

Police were called to Cross Trail North after a resident reportedly ran into the street with a hunting rifle April 5, yelling at someone to come back.

The man told police he was tired of teenagers in the neighborhood causing trouble.

About 6:30 p.m. that day, kids rang his doorbell and ran, so he got his BB gun, went outside and chased after them, a report said.

He was told that next time, he should call the police to handle it.

More Guns

Two residents turned in old guns to police April 5 and 6, but three of the four turned out to be toys.

A man cleaning out his father's house came across an old gun and some ammo. The gun was a toy, a report said.

The next day, a woman also cleaning her father's home turned in three rifles -- two BB guns and one .22.

Police destroyed the BB and toy gun and set aside the real rifle for later destruction.

Suspects Look Like Police

A Rabbit Run Drive woman thought two men walking around her house April 5 looked like detectives, and their car looked like an unmarked police car, she said.

Strongsville officers ran the license plate and found they were, in fact, police officers from Garfield Heights.

They were looking for a possible witness to an incident in their city.

Mischief

Several residents reported damage and other mischief.

The night of April 4, someone egged a house on Rabbit Run Drive, damaging a screen.

On April 6, a Pebble Brook Lane resident reported someone threw a landscaping rock at the front door, damaging it. The resident believed it happened about 10:30 a.m.

The night of April 6, vandals knocked over firewood and threw eggs on Partridge Drive.

Also, someone left a bag of feces in a Walnut Creek Drive driveway.
