Police Blotter: Just Hanging Out, Eating Bread; Mischief Reported

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

 

 

A clerk at Circle K on Pearl Road told police about 1:30 a.m. Nov. 11 she was nervous about a man who had been hanging around and looking in the window.

Officers found the man lying behind the building, eating bread.

A report said the man, who was intoxicated, had no place to go and didn't want to pay for a room for the night.

He was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Traveling through Town

Police got calls of a man with a bunch of luggage trying to flag down drivers on Pearl Road at Boston Road at 11 p.m. Nov. 9.

He was trying to catch a bus, a report said.

 An officer got him to Drake and Howe just in time to board.

Kids Out Again

A wheelbarrow and other items were found in the middle of the road at Partridge and Deerfield just after midnight Nov. 10.

The woman who reported the mess moved the items to the curb.

Police also found smashed pumpkins in Hunting Meadows.

Not Drunk, Just Oblivious

An off-duty officer reported following a possible drunken driver about 6:30 a.m. Nov. 11 as she weaved on Lunn Road.

However, as the woman turned toward Columbia Station the officer could see she wasn't drunk -- she was texting on her phone.

Mailbox Damaged

Someone threw a pumpkin at a mailbox on The Bluffs, damaging it.

Suspicious Vehicle

Police noticed a car parked at the youth recreation area on Lunn Road before 6 a.m. Nov. 11.

It was occupied by a Strongsville man who said he had trouble sleeping and had gone out. He was using his laptop in the car.

Welfare Check

Passersby asked police to check on a man with long curly hair and a backpack walking on Webster Road about 10 a.m. Nov. 9 after he fell to a sitting position.

An officer took the man to Albion Road, where he planned to walk home. He just likes to walk around, a report said.

More Damage

A resident on Cross Trail hear a car's tires screech and glass breaking at 10:45 p.m. Nov. 10.

Police found a neighbor's glass light fixture had been broken. An officer helped the homeowner put it back together, other than the panes that were broken.
