Suspicious Situation

Security called police to SouthPark Mall about 4:20 a.m. Sept. 22 after a man was seen walking in the building.

Police located the man, who works at a restaurant in the food court and didn't know employees weren't allowed in until 6 a.m.

Officers took him to the police station lobby to wait until he could go to work.

Barking Dog

Neighbors complained about a dog on Hunting Meadows Drive that barks all the time.

The dog was in the house when officers arrived. A report said the owners were polite, but asked the officer to relay the message and leave.

The officer asked them not to let the dog out while he was there, but they did anyway. The dog did charge at the officer, but in a playful way, the report said.

The dog then went to the property line and began to bark at nothing.

Sour Grapes?

A caller reported kids drinking beer in a yard on Trenton Avenue, and also carrying cases of beer into the house.

Police found a group of high school students there, but no alcohol. It appears someone "was not invited and made the call," a report said.
