A woman shopping at Westfield SouthPark Thursday evening found a disturbing note in a restroom stall.

A report said the note was written on toilet paper by someone named Allie, who said she was a teenager and pregnant.

The note said the father of the child was abusive and was going to kill her soon.

She mentioned what he was wearing, but said she was leaving the mall shortly.

The woman took the note home and showed her husband, who called police.

Windows Are For Climbing Out

An open window in an apartment on Cherry Tree Drive sparked suspicion about 11:45 p.m. Feb. 1

Police spoke with the resident, who said her adult son climbed out the window so as not to wake her. 

A report said the woman did not seem to think it was unusual behavior, so officers cleared the scene.

Squatters in their House

A Whitney Road couple reported that a house they own in Florida appears to be occupied by squatters.

The woman said her husband had a friend drive by the house and it appears someone has moved in. Also, a fake deed was acquired through Cuyahoga County, she said.

Police in Florida asked Strongsville police to file a report.

No More Free Lunch

A local woman has apparently made a habit lately out of eating meals at restaurants and not paying.

Police were called to a restaurant at Westfield SouthPark about 1 p.m. Jan. 31 after the manager recognized her from a dine-and-dash two weeks earlier. In this case, the woman tried to pay with a check, but admitted it was a fraudulent check.

About 10 p.m. that day, the same woman was caught at TGI Friday's when she had a drink and then acknowledged she had no money to pay for it -- or for a cab home.

She was taken to the station, cited and released.

The next day, she was arrested again after a theft from Red Lobster.
