Police Blotter: Pills Taken from Unlocked Car; 5 a.m. Visit to Cemetery
The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department
A Drake Road man reported the theft of 160 Oxycontin and Oxycodone pills from his car last weekend.
The man said he isn't sure if the theft took place at his home or at Donut Scene.
The car was unlocked and the pain pills were in plain view, a report said.
A report of three young people who parked their car and went into Stronsville Cemetery at 4:50 a.m. Jan. 1 brought police out to investigate.
A Service Department employee said they appeared to be intoxicated.
Police found the visitors were not drunk. One man said they were trying to find his great-grandmother's grave.
Police told them it was not the proper time to be doing that and sent them on their way.
Mischief on Jan. 1
Kids were out throwing eggs and shooting off fireworks about 8:30 p.m. near Weston Pointe and Coopers Run, a report said.
And a Pamela Drive house was egged about 8:40 p.m.
Police couldn't locate the culprits in either incident.
Residents on Whitney Road reported a man drove a white pick-up truck into the driveway about 1 p.m. Jan. 1, then knocked on the door.
When no one answered, the man pulled his truck around to the back of the house, then got out of the truck.
When a resident came out, he yelled "wrong house" and left in a hurry.
The man, when located, told police he was trying to turn around and thought he got stuck, so he pulled up, got out to check and then left.
The family said they weren't sure if they wanted to pursue charges.
Police stopped to check on a woman walking on Strongsville Boulevard about 11 p.m. Jan. 3, noting it was cold out and late for a walk.
The woman said she was fine -- she had just gotten off a bus and was going to a home to dog-sit.
