Charge against Machine Gun Kelly is waiverable, police say

Rapper Machine Gun Kelly and his posse can avoid a court appearance -- if they choose to -- on their charges from Saturday's at .

Three people -- Colson Baker, who performs as Machine Gun Kelly, and two members of his group -- were charged with disorderly conduct after jumping on tables in the food court and refusing to get down.

The charge is a minor misdemeanor, and, like a traffic ticket, is waiverable.

Detective Lt. John Janowski said the three can pay their citations without appearing in court, or can appear in  on Thursday, Aug. 25, to pay the fine or contest the charge.

"No court appearance is necessary for a minor misdemeanor," Janowski said.

Baker organized the flash mob for 5 p.m. Saturday. Hundreds of fans showed up at the mall's food court.

But the event ended as soon as it began. shows officers ordering the men from the tables, then pulling them down in the middle of a crowd of screaming teens and young adults.

Janowski said , who were aware of the pending flash mob, had several officers at the mall in the event of a problem.
