New Italian Restaurant Opening Very Soon

The D.C. Pasta Company will feature homemade fare that won't break the bank

In just a few weeks, renowned chef Dante Boccuzzi will open the doors to his newest Italian creation – The D.C. Pasta Company.

The restaurant, which will take over the former Palate restaurant site, will feature casual, traditional Italian fare, 25 wines under $25 and affordable entree prices that are sure to attract the whole family.

And that’s the point.

“We don’t want this to be just a special occasion place,” Boccuzzi said. “The main focus is on value and well-executed, fresh, homemade food that everyone can enjoy.”

The menu will include eight to 10 homemade pastas with each being offered in three different sizes to satisfy parties big and small.

Boccuzzi’s partner, Carmela del Busso, who also owns Oggi in Broadview Heights, believes she and Dante have honed in on a recipe for success by leveraging their passion of creating “delicious” Italian food.

“The décor will be clean, nothing pretentious,” she said. “We want everyone to enjoy the food and be comfortable. We're going to bring an authentic version of Italy to Strongsville, and I think it will be well received by the community.”

Boccuzzi, who made a name for himself in Tremont with Dante and Ginko, predicts The D.C. Pasta Company, at 12214 Pearl Rd., will be open by mid-January.

You left out the fact that Carmella already occupied that spot and abandoned that spot. Won't even give it a try. Thanks for the heads up that Carmella will be back in Strongsville. No shortage of places selling pasta.

Several restaurants have tried to become established in that plaza. However, it seems that the "Entrance" and "Exit" road to the area is uphill and not welcoming and can be confusing to someone using it for the first time. Also, people probably are not aware that there is parking in the back of the building - From first glance, it looks as though there are only a few parking spaces in front of the businesses.
