The Strongsville Rotary will host a "Summer Solstice" 5K run and 1-mile walk/run on June 16.

Proceeds will benefit John Owen's Adventure, which seeks to derail Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

The run starts at Pathways Church, 21211 Drake Rd. Pre-registration cost is $20 for the 5K and $15 for the fun run; on race day, the cost for either is $25.

Pre-registered runners will get a T-shirt and goodie bag. All runners will be eligible for more than 100 door prize and a spot massage by Performance Chiropractic of Strongsville.

All mailed entries must be postmarked by Wednesday, June 13. Make checks payable to Hermes Sports & Events and mail entries to:

Prizes will be given to top male and female finishers, awards to the top three in each age group: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over. A 1-mile participants will get ribbons.
