Sleepover At Rec Center Ends in Arrest after Someone Thinks A Gun is Pulled
The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department
Police were called to the Ehrnfelt Recration Centerabout 3:30 a.m. Dec. 8 after a fight broke out among teens staging an event there and someone thought a boy pulled a gun.
There was no gun, police said. The black rectangular item turned out to be a video game controller.
Detective Lt. John Janowski said a group called Youths for Christ was at the rec center for an all-night event when a boy started giving a girl a hard time.
The teen allegedly said something about a gun, then pulled out an item that nearby witnesses thought was a weapon.
The youth, 14, of Cleveland, was taken into custody and could be charged with menacing.
