Small Change in Fountain Adds Up to Big Bucks
Cleveland Clinic's Strongsville Health Center is a penny magnet
Visitors at the Cleveland Clinic's Strongsville Family Health & Surgery Center often toss pennies and other change into the streaming fountain in the main lobby.
It adds up to a few dollars a day. And over the years, it has added up to thousands.
Economic Development Director Brent Painter said the Clinic has collected $11,000 from the fountain since the building opened.
"That's about $2 a day people are throwing in there," Painter said.
It's all donated to charity.
This month, the Clinic is giving the money to the American Heart Association and the Cleveland Heart Walk.
