Someone Still Sleeping in Poolhouse: Police Blotter
The following information was provided by the Strongsville Police Department
A young vagrant who was found sleeping in the poolhouse at the Towers at Falling Water in February was back last week, but has proved difficult to catch.
Employees at the apartment complex called police the morning of March 5 to say the 18-year-old was there, but took off running when he was spotted.
The next day, maintenance workers found him sleeping there again, but he again got away. Emplyees said it appeard he hid in the pool building at 9 p.m. the previous night, when they locked it.
On Feb. 11, employees called police after finding the teen the the pool area for the second time.
They want police to warn him not to come back.
Con Artists Threaten to Visit
An Oxford Oval resident asked for help after some scam artists said they were coming to his house to pick up money.
The man got a package March 7 that he didn't order, then got a phone call from someone who said he was coming by at 2:30 to pick up $200 for the package.
The caller asked the man to wire the money via Western Union if he didn't want someone to come over.
Police stayed in the area at the time of the alleged visit, but no one showed.
Rock 'n Roll Hassles
Officers were called again to Bowman Drive March 7 after a neighbor complained about a loud band practice in the shed there every Thursday.
It was not the first complaint about the weekly music, a report said.
The band was finishing for the night, but said they would try to come up with a solution for the problem.
A resident of The Bluffs found someone opened an Ameritech box on his property and disconnected his phone line.
The damage was done between 3 and 8 p.m. March 4.
Where's the Fire?
A passerby repored white smoke coming from a house off Prospect Road about 8:20 a.m. March 7.
Police sent all available units to the area to look for the house, which the caller couldn't identify, until an officer spotted the smoke coming from a garage.
It was the dryer vent, a report said.
