Strongsville Grad Drafted by Rangers

Tri-C standout pitcher Ryan Bores picked in 26th round

 

 Cuyahoga Community College right-handed pitcher Ryan Bores, a Strongsville High School graduate, was selected in the 26th round of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft by the defending American League champion Texas Rangers. 

The 6-foot-4, 195-pound Bores went 5-1 with a 1.11 earned run average over 44 innings this spring to help Tri-C finish 27-14 overall.  Bores allowed just seven earned runs all season while striking out 46 batters.

 Tri-C finished second as a team this spring in the NJCAA Division II rankings with a .374 batting average.  The Challengers won the Sub Regional before closing their season with a fourth-place finish in the Region XII tournament.
