Firefighters, police officers and Mayor Tom Perciak gathered at the main fire station Tuesday morning to honor the memory of those killed in the terroristattacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
The short ceremony included the tolling of the bell in memory of safety forces killed trying to save others that day.
The fire department has hosted a remembrance every year since the attacks.
"We don't want to dwell on it," Fire Chief Jeff Branic said. "But we don't want for forget."
The service started at 9:59 a.m., which is the time the south tower at the World Trade Center collapsed.
It included the playing of "Taps" by Strongsville High School junior Sean Lincoln, a member of the SHS Symphonic Orchestra and of Boy Scout Troop 226.

what i find sad is that I showed my 11 year old the 9/11 attacks and this was the first he has ever heard about them ( they refuse to discuss this in school)
