Thieves Steal Everything But Kitchen Sink, Literally: Police Blotter
The following was obtained from Strongsville police reports dated Feb. 25-26. It does not indicate convictions.
A property manager walked into a pair of apartments off the 19000 block of Westwood Drive on Feb. 25 and noticed several of the major appliances had vanished.
In all, a washer, dryer, stove and refrigerator had been stolen, according to a Strongsville police report.
The former tenants, a mother and daughter, would regularly visit each other and had access to each apartment; and the manager suspected it was they who removed the appliances.
The manager intends to press theft charges against the women.
A fed-up tenant called police on Feb. 26 after smelling marijuana in the hallways outside his Whitney Road apartment.
The man complained, saying the fumes were so pungent they were making him sick, according to the police report.
Police responded and detected a very faint smell of marijuana coming from behind a neighbor's door.
Officer knocked on the door and advised the man to find a new habit.
