Trial to Start in Crash that Killed Motorcyclist

Timothy Bene faces vehicular homicide charge in fatality at Boston-Howe

The driver in a crash June 26 at Boston and Howe roads that killed a Brunswick man is scheduled to start Tuesday.

Timothy Bene, 27, of Strongsville, was indicted on charges of aggravated vehicular homicide and tarmpering with evidence.

William Bricker, Jr., 39, of Brunswick, died after his motorcycle was struck by Bene's truck.

Police said Bricker was riding a Harley Davidson west on Boston Road about 8:45 a.m. when Bene, driving east on Boston, turned his pickup truck left onto Howe Road in front of him.

Following the accident, witnesses saw Bene get out of his truck and walk into the woods, then return a few minutes later.

Police found four bags of marijuana in the woods.

Bricker was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he died four days later.

Common Pleas Judge Nancy McDonnell is slated to hear the case, according to Maria Russo, spokeswoman for Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason.
