What Changes Should New Owners Make at Mall?
With Westfield SouthPark sold, are there new stores, restaurants or policies you'd like to see?
By mid-year, Westfield SouthPark is expected to have a new owner.
Strongsville's mall was one of seven properties Westfield agreed to sell to Starwoood Capital Group for $1.15 billion in April.
There has been no official word yet on any changes that might be on the way, although business analysts have said it it unlikely Starwood will have any major announcements.
Mall Marketing Director Andy Selesnik said this week that he has not yet had any meetings with Starwood Capital.
The 1.6 million-square-foot mall is arguably one of the most successful in the area. It opened in 1996 and was sold by the Richard E. Jacobs Group to Westfield in 2002.
Not that the new owners have asked for advice, but if you could offer some, what would it be?
What stores should they bring in? Which ones should they close? Any new restaurants? Maybe a new policy or two?

A bookstore and a real computer store. A tea room would be a nice escape too.

Something like West Elm, Arhaus, Crate and Barrel, or Potterybarn would be nice.

Remove the "cute little sign" at the the door that says: No Guns.
Does ANYONE really believe that this stops criminals or lunitics?
No, it only stops trained,certified,non-felons like myself from carrying a defensive handgun into the Mall.
The DUMBELLS who predicted "old-west style shootouts" have already been proved wrong, every year, for the last 8 years of legal CCW in Ohio.
Throw the "cute little sign" in the garbage. It don't work.

Get rid of those kiosk carts in the middle of the mall. They look junky, and especially at the Holidays, when the Sales People jump out at you to harass you to stop. It is a carnival-like atmosphere.

those small kiosk carts are mostly small business owners who are trying to make a living just like everyone else also each and every kiosk employs a few additional people to run them not to mention I think they keep the bigger stores prices in check PLUS they are a great place to find last minute gifts for those of us who like to do our christmas shopping the day before christmas (yes I called it christmas)

Please, please please, remove the name of the mall ownership from the major sinage around and leading up to the mall. This should never have been advertised as "Westwood" mall, then with small letters, "South Park". It was insulting, confusing and very hard to identify. Who knows how many people drove around Strongsville looking for the South Park Mall only to see big signs saying Westwood. I hope the new owners have more class.

really !!!!! if westwood sold the mall to a new owner why would you think they would keep the westwood name on the building thats like saying that if bestbuy were to open up a store in closed kmart building they would open and leave the kmart name on the building

@Joe, I'm pretty sure he means the NEW owner not putting THEIR name on all the signage. Of course Westfield isn't going to still be on everything if they no longer own the mall.
