Year-Round Story Times!
Cuyahoga County Public Library offers story time sessions year-round for children birth to grade 2. Our current story time session ends on Aug. 4. We will resume normal sessions after Labor Day. No registration required. Join us as we share stories and fun in a group setting! Please call the Strongsville Branch for specific program details.
Whooo’s Ready for School? Kindergarten Readiness Program. Meets Aug. 7, 9, 14 and 16 from 11 a.m. – noon. For 4- and 5-year-olds.
4 and 5 year olds are invited to attend 4 programs to help them make the transition into their first year of school.
Registration required – you must be able to attend all four sessions.
Friends of Strongsville Library Annual Meeting & Author Event. Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 7 p.m.
A short business meeting begins this wonderful evening featuring author, Patricia Latimer. Ms. Latimer is the author of the book Ohio Wine Country Excursions. Books will be available for purchase and a signing will follow her presentation. This program is FREE to all members of the Friends of Strongsville Branch Library. Memberships will be available at the door for $8.00 per person/family or can be purchased in advance at the Strongsville Branch. A Friends membership is good for one year. It helps to support the Strongsville Branch Library, and your membership fee also entitles you to early entry to all of our Book Sales.
Childhood Nutrition. Thursday, Aug. 9 at 7 p.m.
Are organic vegetables really a better option for my kids? What do I do if my child is gaining too much weight? Do vitamins really make a difference in my child’s overall health? If you are a parent with questions similar to these, join MetroHealth Pediatric Wellness expert as they explain the importance of childhood nutrition and what choices you can be making now to help them live healthier lives as adults.
Ice Cream Social. Saturday, Aug. 11 from 2 – 4 p.m.
Celebrate reading! Participants in our Summer Reading Program and their parents and/or grandparents are invited to the library for ice cream sundaes. (Special thanks to the V.F.W. Post 3345 for sponsoring this event to congratulate our summer readers!)
Wednesday Evening Book Discussion. Meets the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m.
