A Hinckley woman was seriously injured in a one-car collision on northbound I-71 Saturday.

The woman, 32, was trapped in her SUV after hitting a guardrail south of Route 82 just before 5 p.m.

Police called for a Life Flight, but the helicopter was unable to fly because of a rainstorm, a report said.

MetroHealth Medical Center offered to send out a ground crew to take the woman to the trauma unit, but Strongsville paramedics transported her to Metro instead.

An update on her condition was not available this afternoon.
