Shurmer Place at Altenheim Recognized as Deficiency Free
Shurmer Place at Altenheim in Strongsville has been recognized by the State of Ohio’s largest assisted living association long-term care organization for achieving a deficiency-free status.
Shurmer Place was congratulated by the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) for operating in complete compliance with federal and state requirements for health and life safety services and accommodations requirements at the time of its March 2014 annual survey. A team of professional reviewers from ODH checked nursing care and services, environmental standards, dietary services, records, administration and every other aspect of Shurmer Place’s care and accommodations for its residents.

The Ohio Centers for Assisted Living (OCAL), the state’s largest association representing assisted living providers, complimented Shurmer Place CEO Paul Psota, Director Kim Schulz and the staff for their achievement. A certificate of recognition commemorating its success was presented. OCAL represents more than 700 assisted living facilities, including Shurmer Place, statewide.
