Taekwondo Students take on National Championship!

The USA Taekwondo National Championship was held in Chicago July 3 - 7, 2013 and 12 members from Strongsville's World Champion Taekwondo Academy competed with over 4000 other competitors from across the United States in poomsae (form), board breaking,weapons and sparring.  

Six of those students, along with their instructor, Grand Master Keun Moo Ryu, medaled in their respective events.  Congratulations to Mahmood Algehim, gold medal in sparring and bronze medal in board breaking; Christian Amador, gold medal in poomsae (form) and silver medal in sparring; Alan Farley, bronze medals in poomsae and board breaking; Bianca Gehring, bronze medal in poomsae (form), Grace Ryu, bronze medals in poomsae (form) and sparring, Karlie Smick, gold medal in sparring and bronze medal in poomsae (form) and to Keun Moo Ryu, gold medal in sparring.

Other competitors who earned their way to the national event by competing in the State qualifying event earlier this year included Cassie Amador, Jake Baszynski, Tyler Houghton, Jordan Mingus & Micayla Mingus.
