Year-Round Story Times!
Cuyahoga County Public Library offers story time sessions year-round for children birth to age 5. Our current story time sessions are in full swing!  Please call the library for more information.

Young at Heart Book Discussion. Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m.

A book club for adults who love Children’s and Teen books.  Meets the first Tuesday evening of every month.  Please register in person to pick up a copy of the book.  Our next discussion will be on the book Beauty Queens by Libba Bray. 

Scoliosis for Parents.  Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m.

Scoliosis is a curvature of the spine. Adolescents with scoliosis may have noticeable posture changes and a rib hump present on the back. Do you know what to look for to determine if your child has scoliosis? Join us for an informative talk and meet scoliosis therapists from Southwest General Hospital. Learn about a new form of exercise treatment for scoliosis for your growing child.

Adventures into the Paranormal. Thursday, Oct. 10 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Join us as Christine B. of El Dorado Paranormal Investigations presents this detailed look into the paranormal and she will share some of the evidence El Dorado Paranormal Investigations has accumulated during investigations over the past seven years.  The presentation will include a PowerPoint program, review of some of the equipment the team uses on investigations, and a question and answer period.

ACT Practice Exam.  Students in Grades 6 – 12.  Saturday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

College bound? Get ready today by taking a practice ACT exam! Students will take an actual practice exam. Please bring a #2 pencil and calculator to the exam. Exams begin promptly and latecomers will not be admitted. Grades 6-12. Sponsored by Huntington Learning Center. A follow-up class will be offered on Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. Please register separately for this event.

Just for You: Student Friends.  Ages 10 – 18.  Saturday, Oct. 12 from 2-3 p.m.

Join us as we volunteer on projects to help the library and our community.  Contact Jan Chapman, Teen Librarian, to join or pick up a membership application at the Teen Desk.

Write Your Own Songs.  Ages 11 – 18.  Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 7-8 p.m. 

Do you want to write your own songs? Musical artists help you create and perform original song lyrics based on melodies from jazz and the blues to classic rock and roll!

Wednesday Evening Book Discussion.  Meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.  

New members welcome. Our next discussion will be on Wednesday, Oct. 16. This month we are discussing House of Mirth by Edith Wharton. Please pick up a copy of the book at the circulation desk and join us for great conversation! 

ACT Practice Test Follow-up.  Grades 6 - 12.  Monday, Oct. 21 from 7-8 p.m.

You took the practice test, now see how you did! If you took the ACT Practice Test on Oct. 12 that Strongsville Library, sign up for a follow-up class sponsored by Huntington Learning Center that will evaluate your results. Grades 6-12. Registration is requested.

Spirits in the Rhodes Mansion. Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 7-8 p.m.

Judy Cetina, County Archivist, will talk about the spirits that occupy the Robert Russell Rhodes House and share information about the County Archives, its services, and holdings.

National Chemistry Week – Energy: Now and Forever! Grades 3 – 6.  Saturday, October 26 from 2-3 p.m.

Come join us for fun, hands on activities that let you get close to the action! Be prepared to get in and get messy. Led by volunteers from the American Chemical Society. We invite families to stay and participate.  Registration begins on Friday, Oct. 11 at 9 a.m.

Monday Afternoon Book Discussion.  Meets the 4th Mondays of each month at 2:30 p.m. 

New members welcome. Our next discussion will be on Monday, Oct. 28.  The book this month is The Lifeboat by Charlotte Rogan. Please pick up a copy of this book at the circulation desk, and join us for great conversation! 

Strongsville Saves Coupon Club.  Meets the 4th Monday of each month from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.  Our next meeting is on Monday, Oct. 28. 

Join us for our coupon swap club and share your passion for saving with other like-minded shoppers!  Bring your scissors, and your stockpile of manufacturer coupons to share.  Share what you don't want and hopefully leave with more coupons that you really need!  This is the place to trade coupons, spend time with other coupon lovers, and share stories of great deals!
