Author Coming to Library in August

Wine expert to speak at annual Friends meeting

A local expert on wine country will headline the annual Friends of the Strongsville Library's annual meeting at 7 p.m. Aug. 8.

If you've been meaning to get more involved in the , now is the time.

Patricia Latimer, author of Ohio Wine Country Excursions, will talk about her books during the Friends' gathering.

Latimer is a writer, author and founder of Patricia Latimer Associates, a public relations and strategic planning company in Cleveland.

As the former Director of the Sherry Institute of Spain, Latimer advocated for Spain and Sherry in the Western United States, representing the Asociacion de Criadores de Sherry, S.A., in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.

Latimer is the author of Ohio Wine Country Excursions and California Wineries of Sonoma & Mendocino.

She was also a one-time political writer and a scriptwriter. Over the years, Latimer has been published in more than 100 national and regional magazines and newspapers such as Connecticut, Colorado Magazine and the San Francisco Chronicle. She was a columnist on wine for the Nob Hill Gazette, Bayviews and Coast, and a columnist on women in business for the San Francisco Examiner.  

Friends of the Strongsville Library attend the event free. Memberships are $8 for a family and will be available at the door, or in advance at the library's front desk.
