Young at Heart Book Discussion.  Tuesday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m.

A book club for adults who love Children’s and Teen books.  Meets the first Tuesday evening of every month.  Please register in person to pick up a copy of the book.  Our next discussion will be on the book All the Right Stuff by Walter Dean Myers. 

Just for You: Student Friends.  Ages 10 – 18.  Saturday, Sept. 7 from 2– 3 p.m.

KeyBank CPH College.  Ages 11 – 18.  Monday, Sept. 9 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. 

KeyBank CPH College is a unique workshop that introduces you to the circle of artists creating professional theatre here at Cleveland Playhouse, allowing you to discover the powerful impact theatre plays in your community and your life. You will work closely with a CPH teaching artist; and performers and staff of a CPH current main stage show. Other opportunities include building a community, learning the different elements of a professional theater, attending CPH main stage productions, and having fun.

Learn to Speak English – ESOL Classes Return Sept. 10

Do you or anyone you know need help learning to speak English?  The Polaris Career Center teaches FREE English as a Second Language classes here at the Strongsville Branch Library every Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.  If you are interested in strengthening your English Language skills or need help learning to speak the language, this is the class for you! Register for these classes at the first session on Tuesday, September 10th.  For more information call Polaris Career Center at (440) 891-7647.

Manners, Mealtime, & More!  Ages 18 months – 5 years.  Tuesday, Sept. 10 from 6:45 – 7:30 p.m.  Registration begins Aug. 30.

Good manners do more than impress people. They also express gratitude and promote positive interactions. Help your child learn important social skills while learning simple signs for favorite foods. Come learn about Manners, Mealtime, and More in the one-time Baby Signs ® class with certified instructor Bridget Daley! The children will enjoy songs, games, and crafts while exploring the topic of manners.


Identity Fraud.  Tuesday, Sept. 10 from 7-8 p.m.
Your identity is one of your most valuable assets. Understanding where you might be vulnerable - and how identity thieves can exploit that vulnerability - is the first step in defending it. A representative from Liberty Mutual will provide tips and techniques to keep your identity safe.

Friends of Strongsville Library Fall Book Sale. Saturday, Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

The Friends of Strongsville Branch Library will hold their annual fall book sale. The Friends member preview will be from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Friends memberships will be available for $8.00 at the door and are good for one year. The book sale will then open to the public from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Lots of books for sale - for all ages! Fiction, non-fiction, audio visual materials, magazines, & more!

Friends of Strongsville Library Fall Bag of Books Sale.  Sunday, Sept. 15 from 1 – 4 p.m. and Monday, Sept. 16 from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. 

The Friends of Strongsville Branch Library will hold their annual fall bag of books sale.   The bag of books sale will begin on Sunday from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Bring a recycled bag no larger than 15 x 15 to fill with books for only $2 dollars!  On Monday, fill a Friends’ provided plastic bag for only $1.00 dollar!

Dealing with Knee Pain: Good Morning, Strongsville Speaker Series.  Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 10 – 11 a.m.

Please join us for our bi-monthly Good Morning, Strongsville Speaker Series. This month's speaker will be from the Orthopedic Joint Center at Southwest General. Good health can help you enjoy life to the fullest at any age! This talk will provide the education and tools you need to improve your health and maintain wellness. Join us to learn about knee arthritis, how to take care of your joints to prevent injury, healthy lifestyle choices, and exercise for wellness.

Wednesday Evening Book Discussion.  Meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m.  New members welcome!  Our next discussion will be on Wednesday, Sept. 18.  This month we are discussing Destiny of the Republic by Candice Millard.  Please pick-up a copy of the book at the circulation desk and join us for great conversation! 

Happy Birthday Library Open House Celebration.  All Ages.  Saturday, Sept. 21 from 2 – 4:30 p.m.

Join us for this open house event for all ages as we celebrate Cuyahoga County Public Library's 90th Birthday, and the 10th Anniversary of our Strongsville Branch Library. The celebration will include musical performances by Baldwin Wallace University's Front Porch in addition to a performance by The Swinging Bavarians. We will also have refreshments, balloon animals by Magic Bob, and much more!

Monday Afternoon Book Discussion.  Meets the 4th Mondays of each month at 2:30 p.m.  New Members Welcome!  Our next discussion will be on Monday, Sept. 23. The book this month is The Chaperone by Laura Moriarty.  Please pick up a copy of this book at the circulation desk, and join us for great conversation! 

Strongsville Saves Coupon Club.  Meets the 4th Monday of each month from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.  Our next meeting is on Monday, Sept. 23. 

Join us for our coupon swap club and share your passion for saving with other like-minded shoppers!  Bring your scissors, and your stockpile of manufacturer coupons to share.  Share what you don't want and hopefully leave with more coupons that you really need!  This is the place to trade coupons, spend time with other coupon lovers, and share stories of great deals! 

Paris & the Heart of France.  Tuesday, Sept. 24 from 7 – 8 p.m.

In this special travel presentation and slide show, veteran tourist Virginia D'Isidori will take us on a visit to the City of Lights and the surrounding country. We'll storm the beaches of Normandy, view the Bayeux Tapestry, visit the chateaux along the Loire valley, and much more!

Coffee 101: An Intro to the World of Specialty Coffee.  Thursday, September 26 from 7 – 8:30 p.m. 

Join us as a representative from Red Cedar Coffee Company shares this informative presentation. Learn more about the drink that has been enjoyed for centuries. We’ll explore where coffee is grown, why the taste of coffee varies, and how it is roasted.
