'Day at the Chalet' is Sunday in Strongsville

Arts in Strongsville invites everyone to free festival in the park

Arts in Strongsville will host its 14th Annual Day at the Chalet on Sunday, Sept. 15, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Cleveland Metroparks Chalet.

The free event, sponsored by Pat Catan’s Craft Centers and a variety of co-sponsors, features arts, crafts, entertainment and activities for kids of all ages.

There will be music, food, entertainment, artists' booths and plenty of hands-on crafts for kids, including Paint on Canvas by Pat Catan's, cupcake decorating, beads and sand art.

This year’s stage entertainment features Ken Mehalko’s Swing Band, the Pop Tarts 1960s girl group tribute, a Rat Pack tribute and the St. Ignatius Circus Company Jugglers.

On the back patio, where free popcorn and cotton candy will be served all day, Island Jeff Cavallo will perform steel pan music from the Caribbean.

Grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, as well as pizza, will be available for purchase at family-friendly prices.

FREE ADMISSION --
But a donation of a canned good for the Strongsville Emergency Food Bank would be appreciated.

FREE PARKING -- Parking is free onsite, but tends to get crowded. You also can park for free at the RTA Park N Ride at the Turnpike and Pearl Road and ride the FREE SHUTTLE to the Chalet.
