Enter Tree Decorating Contest at Chalet

Cleveland Metroparks will award winner a tobogganing party

Enter the Cleveland Metroparks holiday to win a private tobagganing party for 50 people.

Schools, groups and organizations can decide a theme and provide decorations for the trees, which will be displayed at the in Strongsville.

Trees need to be set up on Friday, Dec. 2 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The trees will be on display til Dec. 18. After the contest, the trees will be delivered to local retirement homes.

Winner will be determined by votes. Ballots will be available at the Chalet. Winning group will be announced Dec. 19.

The guidelines for the contest are:

  • Trees are provided.
  • Space is limited to the first 30 groups on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • No electrical lights or devices may be used in decorating the tree.
  • Each group must incorporate their name and Cleveland Metroparks logo on the tree.
  • Decorations will be exposed to various weather conditions, as well as animals (please no food items) and other park visitors. 
  • Cleveland Metroparks is not responsible for any damaged or stolen items from the trees.

The winning group receives a private tobogganing party at the Chalet Toboggan Chutes for up to 50 people. The package includes 50 toboggan passes, 50 hot dogs, chips and drinks. Prizes will be awarded to second and third place, as well.

The Chalet Recreation Area is located at 16200 Valley Parkway in Mill Stream Run Reservation, between Routes 42 and 82 in Strongsville.
