Here's Something Different: Day Camp for Adults in Metroparks

Learn about Appalachia at Hinckley Reservation

Cleveland Metroparks Historical Interpreter Foster Brown will have a special five-day Appalachian Lifestyle Adult Day Camp from June 11-15 at Redwing Cabin in Hinckley Reservation.

From 9:30 a.m to noon each day, enjoy hands-on study about the life and art of the Appalachian culture.

Adult campers will build and learn how to play an Appalachian dulcimer and will make a berry basket, a beeswax candle and a drinking gourd. Participants will also learn the art of spinning a good folk tale, sing Appalachian folk songs and taste foods characterized by this mountain lifestyle.
