Strongsville Branch Library offers some movie suggestions

If you missed them in the theaters, now's your chance to see these movies selected by Joseph Jones, public services assistant for the of the Cuyahoga County Public Library.

These three films and hundreds of others area available at the library, 18700 Westwood Drive.

 The Other Guys — Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell star as two completely mismatched cops who are stuck doing desk work -- until they finally get a shot at a real case. Light on plot but long on laughs, the real fun is watching the interplay between Wahlberg and Ferrell. Fans of action comedies should check this one out.

Secret in Their Eyes — Foreign language films tend to fall under the radar. This 2010 Oscar winner is one to check out. Part mystery, part love story, we follow the investigation of a 25-year-old case set in Argentina that still has repercussions today. This is a film that will stay with you long after you finish watching.

Winter’s Bone — On top of taking care of her mother and two younger siblings, now 17-year-old Ree Dolly has to deal with the possibility of losing their home thanks to her father using the house as collateral for bail before disappearing. Now Ree has to confront the code of silence in the Ozarks to try and find her father before time runs out. Jennifer Lawrence gives an outstanding performance in this stark, gritty and, at times, brutal film.
