Foundation Software buys building on Foltz Parkway

A local software company is moving across the border, bringing its 103 employees from Brunswick to Strongsville.

Foundation Software, a company that develops accounting software for construction firms, will move into the former CSC Group building at 17999 Foltz Parkway in April.

The company, now at 150 Pearl Rd. in Brunswick, bought the new headquarters for $2.3 million in December.

"We've outgrown our four separate buildings in Brunswick," said Mike Ode, company president.

The Foltz Parkway building has been vacant for more than a year. The CSC Group filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in late 2009 and was bought in 2010 by Hyland Software, which relocated the company and its employees.

Ode said the building is perfect for Foundation's needs.

"We couldn't have designed it any better if we'd sat down and done it ourselves," he said.

The company is planning to move into its new 48,000-square-foot headquarters April 1.

Ode said the company continues to grow and plans to expand its employee base about 10 percent in 2013.

Foundation Software actually started out in Strongsville, launching in 1985 in the Terry Building on Prospect Road before moving to Brunswick in 1998.

"We've circled back," Ode said.
