Does Anyone Buy Comic Books Any More?

You'd be surprised, says owner of Ground Zero

People still love their superheroes, says Markus Benn, owner of Ground Zero Comics in Strongsville.

Fans are still scooping up the latest editions of Superman and Batman comic books, although for the first time, Walking Dead comics led sales last year.

"Comic books are the only entertainment medium not affected by digital sales," Benn says. "In fact, they're up."

What? People read books and news online and with digital readers. Why not comics?

"People still want the tangible feel," Benn says with a shrug. "They read better and they're still collectible."

Keep those covers nice, kids. The first issue of Walking Dead is only 10 years old and it's already worth $1,000.

Ground Zero has been on Pearl Road for 20 years and owned by Benn for 17, who bought it when he was 17.
