Survey ranks Strongsville 64th of 81 Ohio markets in affordable housing

The typical four-bedroom home in Strongsville lists for $241,728 -- more than the Ohio average but less than the national, according to a survey by Coldwell Banker Real Estate.

The company's 2011 Home Listing Report compared the price of four-bedroom, two-bathroom homes in 81 Ohio markets between Sept. 2010 and March 2011. In total, the survey looked at more than 2,300 North American markets.

Cleveland was the least expensive market in Ohio at $76,042, while Upper Arlington was 81st, with an average home price of $390,236.

Strongsville ranked 64th. Prices here are a bit lower than in North Royalton ($253,862) and Broadview Heights ($265,653), but higher than Parma ($132,071) and Medina ($185,223).

"This year’s home listing report is by far the most in-depth local market source of data that has ever released,” said Jim Gillespie, chief executive officer, in a news release. “We’ve included nearly 10 times more markets than ever before."

In the United States, Coldwell Banker found 775 markets averaging $200,000 or less for four-bedroom homes.

The average price in Ohio is $193,281, while the national average came to $293,251.
