It'll Be a Zoo (In a Good Way) at Business Expo

Restaurants, Cleveland Indians and more expected to show their stuff at third annual event

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium may be one of the guests at the third annual Strongsville Business Expo Nov. 14, and the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo definitely will be there.

Economic Development Director Brent Painter said he was surprised to get an email from the Columbus Zoo, asking for a registration form.

"I don't know how they heard about it, but they wanted to sign up," Painter said. "So I called the Cleveland Zoo and told them Columbus might be there, so they signed up as well."

The event will bring 100 businesses to the Ehrnfelt Recreation Center to showcase their goods.

"We have a really good showing of companies this year," Painter said.

The businesses offer food samples, prizes and giveaways to the people who tour the expo.

Among the participants this year will be the Cleveland Indians, as well as several Strongsville restaurants: Old Carolina Barbecue, Menchie's frozen yogurt, DiBella's, Rockne's, Chick-fil-A, Olympia, Panera, Samurai Sushi and Giant Eagle.

Emcee this year will be WTAM-AM morning host Bill Wills.

The expo is a collaboration between the city, the Strongsville Chamber of Commerce and the Strongsville Rotary.

It will run 5-7:30 p.m. for the public, with an hour of networking for the businesses beforehand.
