The store carries pet foods like Orijen, Acana, Evo, Fromm, California Natural, Wellness, Natural Balance and Natural's Variety.

On June 15, Columbus-based PetPeople will open its 17th store in the Greens of Strongsville.

Patch announced the new business — that features health food, pet supplies and a  3 self-service dog washes and a community —  was coming in May.

“Our mission is to be the local market headquarters for high quality, natural pet foods and upscale pet supplies for dogs and cats,” said Trish Elkind, owner of PetPeople, in a prepared statement. “PetPeople is a family owned and operated business based in Ohio. As a smaller company, we recognize that we must work harder to earn customers’ loyalty and trust which is why it is our goal to exceed customers’ expectations on every visit.”

The company has five other northeast Ohio locations, including Hudson, Rocky River and Avon.

The store will offer a variety of healthy pet food options. Employees at PetPeople will also be available for consultation to find the best diet plan for pets.

“We truly believe that good nutrition makes a huge difference in the lives of our pets,” said Elkind in a press release. “When we evaluate new foods for our stores we look at ingredients, the sourcing, and the nutritional value. We only carry products we believe in.”

The company also donates 5 percent of its net profits to local pet related non-profits.
