Two Businesses Seek Liquor Permits
City has no problem with one, but objects to the other
Two Strongsville businesses are applying for permits to sell carryout liquor.
Strongsville Seafood, 12521 Pearl Rd., and Jalan Oil, doing business as , 8952 Pearl Rd., have both applied to the Ohio Department of Liquor Control for permission to sell alcohol.
City Council on Monday had no objection to Strongsville Seafood's request, but made a conditional objection to the service station's permit.

Building Commissioner Tony Biondillo reported Gas N Food is in violation of some of the city's building regulations.
Once those are corrected, the city will lift its objection to the liquor permit, Council President Mike Daymut said.

The city routinely inspects businesses applying for liquor permits, and also asks the police and fire departments to review the applications. Strongsville does not issue permits, but can file an objection with the state if officials here have a problem with the establishment selling alcohol.
